Sevilla Vs Barcelona supercup, Final warm-up

Those who missed real football and suffered enough from the silly season of transfer rumors will have a chance to finally bring their football joy to life. Within few hours, Supercopa will take place between Barcelona and Sevilla.

What makes this game more exciting is the chance to see different lineups than we will see during the season, with the absence of Spanish internationals, beside Cáceres, Hleb and V.Sánchez who were probably left behind to avoid unpleasant injuries that may pull them out of transfer zone.

Players traveling to Seville are:

Mino, Oier, Alves, Abidal, SergioGomez, Muniesa, Milito, Adriano, Maxwell, OriolRomeu, Keita, SergiRoberto, DosSantos, Thiago, Messi, Ibrahimovic, Bojan, Jeffren, Nolito

Possible selection:

Mino, Alves, Milito, Abidal, Maxwell, Thiago, Jonathan, Keita, Adriano, Ibrahimovic, and Bojan.

Yet, there are lot of possibilities around this selection, like using Maxwell in the midfield, Adriano as a left back and starting Jeffren. This will help basically to close the flanks where Sevilla generates most of their attacks. Jonathan as a holding midfielder with two offense oriented fullbacks is a tricky choice, especially if Keita didn’t play as a second pivot. Messi may need to wait the second half depending on the match needs.

This game is not only important for the title it worth. But it will give a better idea about roles some some players can take for next season.

- How ready Mino is if the team needed him next season?
- How far the team can count on Milito’s comeback? Especially after offloading two center backs this summer.
- How far can Abidal help as a center back?
- What kind of tactical modifications needed in order to use two offense oriented fullbacks? A game against Sevilla will be the best test, knowing the potentials of that team on the flanks. The readiness of
- Youth players’ readiness to get promoted and play on the big stage.
- The adaptation of Adriano and the form of Ibra and Bojan. Though we can’t expect them being at their best already.

For Sevilla, there are lots of question marks regarding their selection. In one hand, it will be good to put the best selection hoping to clench a win at home against a weakened Barcelona. That will boost the confidence of the players before the Champions league game. Still, this game may demand lot of energy and may even cause some injuries, which is exactly what Sevilla need to avoid. Champions’ league will no doubt be a priority.
